The goal

Laying the foundation for scalable growth

Casavo initially engaged me to redesign their mobile app and improve the user experience across their platform. However, it quickly became clear that to truly meet their needs, we had to implement a new scalable design process that would support Casavo’s rapid growth and evolving product landscape.

About Casavo

Casavo is the leading European PropTech platform, revolutionizing the way homes are bought and sold across the continent.

My role

As a Design Lead, I spearheaded the redesign of Casavo's mobile app, implemented a scalable design system, and redefined the design processes.

The Design System

To maintain consistency across multiple products, I reorganized Figma projects and files using a systemic approach.

This included transitioning from basic color mapping to a semantic-oriented color palette, creating a responsive typographic system, and redesigning static components into responsive, reusable ones with states and variants.

New methodology

Increasing product quality without sacrificing speed. Introducing Dual-Track Agile approach.

This involved integrating discovery processes into the product board, aligning Jira and Figma through user story IDs, and standardizing the design-dev handoff with templates and versioning.

Enhanced Discovery Process

We revamped the discovery phase by embedding it into the product board, ensuring that design insights were seamlessly integrated into every sprint.

Jira-Figma Sync for Seamless Collaboration

This synchronization enabled real-time tracking of design progress within the development workflow, fostering better communication and reducing bottlenecks.

Streamlined Design-Dev Handoff

We standardized the handoff process with tailored templates and versioning, ensuring that every design detail was clearly communicated and easy to implement.

The Design

With our design system and agile methodology in place, we quickly turned ideas into reality, redesigning key features like the home screen and photo upload flow, and effortlessly testing new concepts with our flexible, atomic design components.

Thanks to the modular, atomic design architecture, we could rapidly test and iterate on multiple versions of new features, ensuring that every element aligned with user needs and business goals. Below are key screens that showcase these enhancements, illustrating how the new system enabled swift and consistent design iterations.

Results

A New Era of Design at Casavo

The design team evolved from a single designer supporting one squad to a team of three designers and a Design Lead working across two squads. This scalable approach has not only improved product consistency but also laid the groundwork for faster time-to-market and a more robust design culture at Casavo.

Vincenzo moved from being an individual contributor to leading our design team, leveraging his experience and willingness to support our growth.

He has pushed us all to improve the quality of our daily activities and brought us to the next step on quality, customer-centricity, and processes implementation.
